MoneyWeek map: Who has the most gold?

According to figures from the World Gold Council for February 2013, these are the ten countries with the largest gold reserves. The top holder, with more than 8,000 tonnes of gold, is America, with India slipping into tenth place. Britain, with 310 tonnes (less than half the amount we had in 1999, when then-chancellor Gordon Brown decided to sell nearly 400 tonnes of gold), sits at 16th place.
