Laurence Blackall, a non-executive director of Oakley Capital Investments, a Bermuda-based investment firm, has purchased 200,000 ordinary shares at 118p a pop.

The £236,000 purchase is currently the director's only holding in the firm, equal to around 0.2% of the total voting rights.

At the end of December, the company's net asset value was £1.71 per share was up from £1.68 last year, an increase of 2.0%, achieved on the back of a year of significant progress.

"The performance of the portfolio companies has been robust and is reflected in the continuing positive momentum of our NAV," the firm said earlier this year.

"In the period, the Limited Partnership invested in three new portfolio businesses providing compelling growth opportunities for the future. We are continuing to see a good flow of prospects into our deal pipeline which we expect will provide a number of potential opportunities for the Limited Partnership in 2012."
