Telecommunications group Vodafone has been appointed by Oracle to manage the software firm's mobile service needs in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region for four years.
Under the agreement, Vodafone Global Enterprise, the division of Vodafone that manages services for businesses, will supply mobile services management, mobile voice and data services to over 16,000 Oracle employees in the region billed on a fixed-fee, per-user basis.
Vodafone said the agreement would help Oracle achieve greater cost efficiencies. It did not say how much the deal is worth.
'Vodafone Global Enterprise is committed to helping Oracle reduce their costs and simplify their processes," said Nick Jeffery, chief executive of Vodafone Global Enterprise.
'As well as our revolutionary per user pricing model, Oracle will benefit from the tools and consultancy that we offer to improve efficiency in both their fixed and mobile communications.'
