Executive search firm Hexagaon Human Capital said its search businesses have seen an uplift in the number of retained assignments but Rob Walker, executive chairman of the company, said it is too soon to tell whether this improvement will be sustained.
The company also provides senior interim managers and said this segment of the market saw increased activity towards the end of the second quarter of 2009 as companies look to take on industry veterans to guide them through the recession.
Trading in the first half of the year was in line with management expectations, Walker said at the company's AGM, adding that the board remains in talks with its bankers in order to finalise new lending facilities.
Brown land developer Inland has posted a planning application for the redevelopment of the site of the National Air Traffic Control centre in West Drayton, Middlesex.
The company and its joint venture partners plan to build 775 homes on the site, as well as a healthcare centre and nursing home.
E-learning firm Intellego failed to secure a pass mark with its trading statement which showed a decline in sales and a bigger than expected loss in the six months to 30 September.
The company expects sales in the first half of the year will be down to $0.8m, versus $1.1m in the corresponding period of last year, as customers dither over committing to placing new orders.
The company has not given up hope of making up lost ground in the second half, however, having achieved 'several significant new contract wins' since the end of September.
Bermuda-based oil and gas explorer Dominion Petroleum announced that Andrew Cochran has been appointed as chief executive officer with immediate effect.
