Shares in Angel Biotechnology took to the skies on Friday after the contract bio-manufacturing company announced the successful completion of its bi-annual regulatory checks.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has completed the audit of Angel’s production facilities and extended the company’s manufacturer's authorisation for Investigational Medicinal Products (IMP) and its manufacturers' and Importers Authorisation (MIA) for a further two years.

The ‘Good Manufacturing Practice’ manufacturers’ licences represent ‘the cornerstone of our business and their continuation reflects our commitment to quality and service,’ said the Angel Biotechnology’s chief operating office, Gordon Sherriff.

‘Being one of the few CMOs [contract manufacturing organisation’s] in the UK to be licensed to manufacture both Investigational Medicinal Products and products for commercial sale provides us with a strong differentiator in an increasingly competitive market place,’ Sherriff maintained.
