Two non-executive directors at ITV will resign as the broadcaster continues to shuffle its boardroom ahead of the appointment of Archie Norman as chairman in January.

Heather Killen and Agnès Tourain will retire as non executive directors with effect from 31 December 2009.

"I am very grateful to Heather and Agnès for their assistance in guiding ITV through an extremely challenging time to a place where the company's prospects are immeasurably improved," said Michael Grade, the outgoing ITV chairman.

Norman said: "2009 has been by any standards a difficult and demanding year for the non-executive team at ITV and I thank Heather and Agnès for their support of me and Michael Grade through this period of succession."
