Bransgrove buys in after Entertainment Rights slump
Entertainment Rights non-executive chairman Rod Bransgrove spent more than £50,000 on shares, the character licensor confirmed today.
He bought 550,000 shares at 9.25p each. The purchase takes his holding in the company, which owns the rights to characters such as Postman Pat and Casper the Friendly Ghost, to around 19.7m shares, 2.69% of the company.
Shares in the company dropped sharply lower on Monday after it said it was no longer in takeover talks.
Speaking as Entertainment Rights announced the collapse of talks, Bransgrove said: "The board of ER believes that the company has significant underlying value and remains in a strong position with regard to generating returns from its extensive portfolio of brands and content."
The company's share price gained around 7% today, but is still down more than 20% from a week ago.
