Coffeeheaven non-exec tops up
Deals to avoid the changes to CGT ahead of the end of the tax year continue to dominate, but one exception looks to be the purchase of over £876,000 worth of shares in Poland-focused coffee shop owner Coffeeheaven.
Non-executive William Currie bought the shares, at 27.3p, to take his holding up to 12.1%. Currie, a former stockbroker with his own investment fund, has been a steady buyer but this latest purchase is by far his largest for some years.
In December, Coffeeheaven posted normalised pre-tax losses of £101,000 in the six months to the end of September, compared with profits of £144,000 in the same period of 2006. Revenues increased 61% to £7.1m from £4.6m, while like-for-like sales rose 20%.
Coffeeheaven said the deficit was down to the move into the Czech Republic, where the company has been expanding, and Bulgaria, where it opened its first stores.
