Chairman tops up OPD holding
Peter Hearn, the chairman of recruitment group OPD, has topped up his holding in the company to 18.37% following yesterday's results which showed a fall in profits after impairment and bid costs.
Hearn bought 35,826 shares at 169.5p to take his total holding to 4,879,715 shares.
The recruiter, which is currently involved in a three-way bid battle for rival Imprint, said operating profits in 2007 rose from £13m to £15.6m, though after impairment of £1.6m and bid costs of £1.4m, pre-tax profits dropped to £12.2m from £12.5m. Fee income rose from £74.1m to £94.9m.
Strongest growth during the year under review came from the Odgers business where net fee income has increased by 30% to £52.8m, OPD said. PSD's net fee income increased by 13% to £29.3m.
OPD has not yet seen any overall decline in the areas in which it operates, though it adds income visibility in our markets is limited.
