Sector movers: Higher metal prices lift sectors
Miners were posting strong gains. Rio Tinto, Kazakhmys, BHP Billiton and Lonmin are amongst the biggest risers as metal prices hang around near record highs.
Naturally, the rise is also helping those in the industrial metals sector. International Ferro Metals, Ferrexpo and First Quantum Minerals are surging ahead.
Food & drug retailers weighed with supermarket groups Morrison, Sainsbury and Tesco heavily lower.
Industrial Engineering sector is doing well despite investors not warming to Fenner's decision to raise up to £38m in a placing.
