Ken Clarke sells BAT stake
Former Chancellor and Conservative Party leadership hopeful Ken Clarke sold his stake in British American Tobacco today.
Cigar-smoking Clarke, who is stepping down as deputy chairman BAT in April this year, sold 4,779 shares in the Lucky Strike owner at 1841.26p a share, earning just under £88,000.
British American said the sale was made for "estate and tax planning reasons."
Shares in the company have fallen sharply recently, from levels of over £20 earlier in the year.
