Land Securities' Carnwath spends almost £1m
Alison Carnwath, a non-executive director at Land Securities, the UK's biggest Real Estate Investment Trust, spent almost £1m on shares in the company.
Carnwath, who is also on the board of the tobacco group Gallaher and insurer Friends Provident, paid £994,934, or 1,608p each, for 61,874 shares.
The purchase lifts her stake in the company to 68,388 shares, or 0.0145%.
Land Securities, which invests in office buildings and retail sites such as the Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham, said on Wednesday it will consider selling its property management division Trillum.
The company said it would, "evaluate the benefits of a sale of its Trillium business against the merits of a demerger."
Recent reports have suggested potential bidders are prepared to pay around £1.5bn for Trillium.
