Bosses at Dairy Crest bought a combined total of more than £100,000 worth of shares in the dairy products supplier today.

Chairman Simon Oliver took 5,000 shares in the company for 542.31p a share, or a total of £27,115; lifting his stake to 45,000 shares or 0.03% of the company.

Board members Neil Monnery, Carole Piwnica and David Richardson performed identical trades. Monnery and Piwnica now own 5,000 shares, while Richardson doubled his stake to 10,000 shares.

Dairy Crest, which produces milk and other branded dairy products, reported last month that it had managed to maintain good progress in its turnover by increasing the prices its charges for milk and other dairy products.

Shares in the company have fallen sharply, from levels of over 700p, over the past six months.
