Barry Olliff, chief executive of the natural resource asset manager City of London Investment Group, topped up his stake in the company today, taking 90,000 shares for a total of £301,500.

The purchase, which was made at 335p a share, brings his stake in the company to 3,940,750 shares, or 14.72%.

City of London Investment, which invests in sectors such as metals, diversified mining and agricultural commodities, said last week that emerging markets continued to perform strongly in the six months to November and exceeded client benchmarks.

Funds under management were $4.59bn at the half year end versus $3.1bn same time last year. Revenue for the period rose 46% to £12.1m with pre-tax profits surging 72% to £5.3m.
