Severfield director takes bigger stake
Structural steel supplier Severfield-Rowen's director David Ridley has bought into the company, taking 50,000 shares at 261.38p each, or a total of £130,690.
The purchase brings his stake in the company to 52,000 shares. It follows chairman Peter Levine's purchase on Monday of 400,000 shares for 248p each.
Shares in Severfield, which supplies steel to projects such as new stadiums and shopping centres, tumbled 40% on Thursday as it cautioned that it had seen demand soften in the early part of 2008.
Shares in Aberdeen-based oil and gas engineering services business Plexus were higher today after two of its directors took large stakes in the company.
Skye investments, a company controlled by Plexus's chairman Robert Adair, bought 544,425 shares at 36p each, or a total of £195,993. Director Jeffrey Thrall's Thrall Enterprises spent £252,000 on 700,000 shares, also paying 36p a share.
Skye's senior sales engineer Anastasio van Bilderbeek, son of Plexus chief executive Ben van Bilderbeek, also bought in at 36p a share, taking 580,000 shares for a total of £208,800.
Plexus was founded in 1986 by Ben van Bilderbeek. It provides wellheads for the offshore oil and gas drilling.
