Blacks boss opens account
Blacks Leisure chief executive Neil Gillis has bought 50,000 shares in the outdoor clothing retailer at 152p each following a sharp slide in the company's share price.
Gillis, who took the helm at Blacks in November, had no shares in the firm before the today's purchase.
The boss dived in after Blacks warned Tuesday that a sharp deterioration in sales of clothes for surfers and skateboarders would leave full year operating profit below expectations.
In the 19 weeks to 12 January 2008, like for like retail sales were down 1.2% on the previous year, although like for like sales in the last six weeks were up by 2.8%.
The company has seen its share price more than halve in the past six months following a slip into the red at the half way stage, announced last October.
