Dolphin founder continues increasing stake
Dolphin Capital's managing partner and founder Miltos Kamourides has bought a further 280,000 shares in the real estate investment trust.
The latest purchase, which was made at 137p a share, brings his total holding in Dolphin to 22.5m shares.
Kamourides started the year with 20,599,300 shares in Dolphin, but has steadily been building up his stake in the company, buying over 1m shares early in the year and following this up with three smaller purchases.
Dolphin announced on January 3 that it was branching out of its core eastern Mediterranean area to develop a beach resort at Playa Grande in the Dominican Republic.
The purchase comes on a day when real estate plays were in focus after activist investor Laxey revealed plans to invest £1bn in property companies whose values have plummeted over the past year.
Laxey aims to raise £250m to £300m, which can result in buying power of £1bn by using a debt facility. The fund, which will be known as Terra Catalyst, will be floated on AIM in February.
