Bodycote's Wallace ups stake
Bodycote chairman James Wallace has dipped his hand in his pocket following a big drop in the firm's share price in response to today's trading update.
Wallace paid £48,000 for 25,000 shares at 192p per share, 41% below April's high, taking his beneficial interest to 132,287 shares.
He was joined by new non-executive deputy chairman Alan Thomson who made an identical trade.
Earlier, the engineering firm said it remains confident it will make further progress in the coming year despite a softening North American automotive market.
It reported sales growth for the year to date of 18%, with 8% organic and the rest from acquisitions. The group said it expects full-year sales and headline operating profit within the range of market forecasts.
But it said testing in the US is weak and cost cutting will mean a £2m exceptional charge.
