Lanir raises Livermore stake to 48.75%

17.12.2007

This genius investor does dizzying levels of research to uncover...Half Price Shares!

Noam Lanir, chief executive officer of Livermore Investments, is closing in on having control of half the company after his third share purchase in the last five days.

Lanir spent £74,550 today buying 210,000 Livermore shares at 35.5p to bring his holding up to 138,453,923 shares, or 48.75% of the total issued share capital of the company.

Last week Lanir made two separate purchases, the first a monster purchase of 3.5m shares at 33.57p each and the second a top-up of 75,000 shares at 35p each.

Livermore Investments is the rump of Empire Online, which became an investment company after selling off its online gaming interests to PartyGaming.

Since converting to an investment company Livermore has made three major acquisitions. The first was the purchase of a 34,000 square metre commercial freehold property, Wylerpark, in Bern, Switzerland, for £38.3m, which came with a commitment to build 39 luxury apartments overlooking the Alps on the land.

The company subsequently invested around £6.8m into Romanian TV company DTH Television, by way of an interest-bearing shareholder loan and equity participation of 15% of DTH's share capital.

Earlier this month the company acquired an 8.41% holding in real estate investment and development company central and eastern Europe focussed Atlas Estates for £11.3m.
