Solar towers, wave farms, electric cars, and 'smart grids' all have the whiff of science fiction about them. But oil price spikes, geo-political instability and climate change have all contributed to the urgency to find clean, green, renewable energy sources. And now the alternative energy sector has the backing of the world's governments, it has an unstoppable driving force behind it - so investing in green energy has never made more sense.
